CSCI 1100: Introduction to Personal Computing
CSCI 1100 is not a "computer literacy" course. Our goal is computer fluency: you should be comfortable using computers to expand the boundaries of your
own creativity. This includes knowing something about how computers work and how the world is changing because of computers.
You will not become a computer wizard in this course, but you will have enough background to intelligently buy a computer, install software, and protect your
computer against virues.
Labs will provide you with proficiency in the use of the Microsoft Office software suite. You will learn how to put up and maintain your personal Web page at UGA.
This class satisfies the Area D requirement for a 3-hour science or technology course, under the "old" core.
