About me

I grew up in Qingdao , a very beautiful seaside city on the north east coast of China. To those who drink beers, Qingdao is perhaps most famously known for the Tsingtao Brewery, which German settlers founded in 1903, and which produces Tsingtao beer, now the most famous beer in China and known worldwide. To me, it is the most unique place in the world, not only because it's my hometown, but also the seafood :-)

In the year of 2003, I came to USA and became a Ph.D student in Computer Science Department of the University of Georgia (UGA). Although Athens is a small town, I like here very much. It makes me feel comfortable.

About my hometown

Eight hundred and seventy kilometers to the southeast of Beijing is one of China's most well-known seaside resorts, Qingdao.

As a partner host city to the Beijing 2008 Olympics, Qingdao will be hosting the 2008 Olympic Sailing Regatta. During July - December 2008, the Olympic sailing events and those for the handicapped will be held in Fushan Bay near the city’s political, cultural and commercial center. The land facilities will cover approximately 45 hectares and will include a national sailing athlete training center, an Olympic village, an athlete center, a boat park, a news center, an international passenger liner wharf, an international conference center, a five-star international tourist hotel, an international yachting club, a seaside marina, parks and squares. The comprehensive sports center will integrate tourism, sports and entertainment.

As another big event of Qingdao, Qingdao International Beer Festival was initiated in 1991 and was planned to be open on the second weekend of August, which has always been a golden season for tourism. The festival, co-sponsored by the state's relevant ministries and departments and Qingdao Municipal Government, has long been serving as a great state-level celebration combined with toursim, culture, sports and business trades.
