The Certificate in Computing

What's the difference between the Certificate and a Minor?

The Computer Science minor requires 12 hours of upper-division courses in CS. However, before taking any upper-division courses a student would need to take CSCI 1301, 1302, 2610, 2670, 1730, and 2720. This is a lot of work and may not be realistic for many students. The Certificate in Computing is intended to fill the role that a minor usually fills: a strong concentration in a subject area, short of a major.
